Caulfield’s 2010 Easter Cup Won By Fanjura

April 6th, 2010

Fanjura, trained by Lee Freedman, won the Group 3 Easter Cup (2000m) at the Caulfield Racecourse in Melbourne on Saturday.

While most eyes may have been on Sydney’s Rosehill Gardens Racecourse, the Melbourne Autumn Racing Carnival came to a close through its Easter Cup Day, and with eight great races, the penultimate headlined the day and saw Fanjura beat nine other horses for the win.

The five-year-old gelding took out the field with an impressive performance, beating runner up Light Vision by 1 and ¾ lengths.

The 2010 Easter Cup win is the first Group win for Fanjura in Australia.

Also taking place on Saturday at Caulfield was the Group 3 Victoria Handicap (1400m).
