Awesome Rock was unlucky to lose the Group 1 Australian Cup (2000m) in a protest last start but has been confirmed in the 2016 Easter Cup field.

Awesome Rock has been a strong and consistent performer for Leon and Troy Corstens through his entire racing career so-far; posting two wins and a further seven minors through only eighteen competitive starts.

Capping a strong 2015 campaign with success in the Listed James Boags Symphony Stakes (1800m) on November 3rd, Awesome Rock clearly needed a run when twelfth in the Group 1 Ladbrokes CF Orr Stakes (1400m) first-up but responded well in placing fourth in the Group 2 Peter Young Stakes (1800m) a fortnight prior to the Australian Cup.

Likely to require some luck in running from barrier 11, the Fastnet Rock entire will be partnered by regular hoop Stephen Baster in the 2016 Easter Cup.

Lidari carries good form into the 2016 Easter Cup and could very well receive the run of the race after drawing the ideal barrier 4.

Securing seven wins and a further eight minors through a total of 32 career starts, Lidari ran a close second in the Listed Lord Stakes (1700m) first-up on Boxing Day before a luckless run in the Peter Young Stakes.

Having run a close second in the Listed CS Hayes Memorial Cup (1600m) last time out on March 14th, the Acclimation entire has been confirmed to be partnered by Brad Rawiller.

Trainer Darren Weir will launch a three-pronged attack on the Group 3 race after also confirming Puccini and Manndawi in the 2016 Easter Cup field.

A Group 1 winner having taken out the 2014 edition of the New Zealand Derby (2400m), Puccini resumed this time for tenth in the Ascot Racecourse Trophy (1400m) before an impressive performance for third in the Group 3 TAB Rewards Stakes (1400m) on March 5th.

Luckless in the Group 2 Ajax Stakes (1500m) last time, the son of Encosta De Lago should receive a great run in transit from barrier 2.

Manndawi is amidst his first Australian preparation, and appears as though he will relish a step-up to 2000m fourth-up in the 2016 Easter Cup.
